Hiking the Wales Coastal Path

This summer my husband and I took a two week long trip to Dublin, Wales and London. He was accepted into a summer program at Oxford (he’s a smarty-pants), and we figured we’d tack on a little travel beforehand. While Dublin and London were great cities for sightseeing, our favorite memories from the trip were from our time in Wales. We spent five days hiking the coastline of the Isle of Anglesey, a small island off the northern coast. We hiked about 10 miles a day and it felt so rewarding to end each day feeling tired but accomplished. The scenery was some of the most beautiful I’ve ever experienced. It was hard to pay attention to my footing, even along the cliffs, because there were so many views to gawk at. Also, on a side note, I have never seen more sheep in my life.

Here are some photos from our trip.

The first stretch of scenery. We got lost the first day of our hike on this beach and ended up walking a couple miles out of our way with our backpacking backpacks on. Not fun.

Smiling big before the miles caught up with me.

Parts of the path looked like this. Getting lost was not hard.
