Weekend Adventures: Wine Country

Seattle is in a great spot geographically; no matter which direction you turn, you’ve got either water or gorgeous mountains, and if you trek all the way to the other side of the state, you’ll find yourself in beautiful wine country. That’s where I headed earlier this month when I embarked on a spontaneous road trip with a few friends. We journeyed to Walla Walla (located in Washington’s southeast corner) for their fall wine release weekend, a bi-annual event during which local wineries offer tastings of the season’s new releases along with some of their classics. Needless to say, it was a highly successful adventure! Here are some of my photos from the weekend.

I had never been to Walla Walla before, but I definitely plan on going back! It’s only about four hours from Seattle, but feels like a completely different world.

Do you have a favorite weekend getaway destination that’s close to home?
