May Wish List

Man, this year is flying by! May is already upon us, which is basically pre-summer. Or at least that’s how I like to think of it. I’m currently planning my wardrobe for my imaginary summer vacation to the Amalfi Coast. The dress code I’m envisioning is white sundresses, off-the-shoulder tops, sexy sandals, and the biggest, most glamorous sunglasses I can find. It’s going to be the best imaginary vacation ever! Meanwhile, back in reality, I’ll be dressing up in my vacation outfit and heading to the Italian restaurant down the street to sip wine on the patio.

I especially love #3, which is basically a lip gloss in a cocktail shaker. And I’m completely head over heels for those red sandals! What’s on your wish list right now? More importantly, where would you go on your imaginary vacation?

Spring To-Do List

Spring To-Do List

Apart from summer, spring is definitely my favorite season. Flowers blooming! The return of sandal weather! Puppies frolicking in the sunshine! (Can’t you picture the montage?) It’s tough to beat. While we may have briefly regressed to the chilly dampness of winter this week, I’m firmly in the spring mindset now and there’s no going back. These are the top 10 activities and experiences on my to-do list this season.

1. Bring home all the pink peonies I can carry

2. Catch a daytime Mariners game

3. Hunt down the perfect pair of nude lace-up sandals

4. Treat myself to a facial

5. Visit Molly Moon’s new Eastside location

6. Purge the heck out of my wardrobe and donate anything I haven’t worn in over a year

7. Do as much shopping as possible at my neighborhood farmers market

8. Take a cocktail mixing class

9. Hang the gallery wall in my living room (technically, this has been on my to-do list for the past eight months)

10. Plan a Memorial Day weekend getaway – Palm Springs, perhaps?

A Memorial Day weekend getaway in Palm Springs sounds pretty perfect

What are you most excited about this season? Do you have a spring to-do list?

March Wish List

Guys, spring is so close I can practically taste it. The sun has been peeking out for a little bit longer here and there, and I’ve even dared to venture outside without a coat. Yep, I’m a daredevil. I just can’t wait for warmer temperatures and the cute outfits that come with it! I’m daydreaming of slouchy stripes, leopard accents, and pops of pink. Oh, and plenty of fresh flowers, of course!

I’m also super excited to try out Emily Schuman’s new collection of Formula X nail polish. All the colors look perfect for spring! What about you? What’s on your wish list this month?

Loafer Love

loafer fall 2015 fashion julia malinowskiThis fall, I’ve been on a mission. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair of both oxfords and loafers. I think I’ve found the ideal oxfords in the new TOMS brogues. Most oxfords are narrow in the back, mercilessly pinching one’s heels. These have a wider back and extra cushioning, making them the most comfortable “dress” shoe I’ve honestly ever worn. Also, they’re super cute. I actually bought my pair at the Nordstrom Fall Beauty Trend Event with Mil.
.
However, I have yet to find the perfect loafer. This year, I’ve seen a number of interesting updates to the standard penny loafer and am having a hard time deciding on the right choice. For me, the perfect shoe is wearable on an at least weekly basis, but it’s so basic that it completely blends with the outfit. It needs to bring some punch and purpose.
.
celineThe “tuxedo” loafer, aka black and white, has been everywhere! This Celine pair, spotted on Julie of Sincerely Jules, is priced beyond my wildest dreams. However, here a few more affordable options I’ve been eyeing:

.
On the other hand, I’ve also been loving the “smoking” loafer, a softer take on the more traditional shape. Lots of interesting colors and more of a blurring with a flat or a slipper.
.
gal-meets-glam-ripped-denim14This Stubbs and Wooton pair, spotted on Julia of Gal Meets Glam, is also out of my price range at $400+. Unfortunately my job at Porch.com has yet to pay me the big bucks. So goes working for a start-up… Naturally however, I hunted down a few more realistic options:

What are your thoughts? Black, white, and bold? Or something a little bit softer? I need your weigh-in, as I’m hopeless at making decisions on my own!
.
XOXO,
Jules
