My mom taught me that it’s important to always be prepared, which is why I keep a fully stocked beach bag in my car at all times during the summer. That may not be quite what she meant, but it’s a principle that has served my beach-loving self well. What’s better than meeting friends at the lake on a whim or taking a detour on the way home from work for some spontaneous sunbathing? Here are a few of my essentials for a day at the beach (though I admit the fancy chair and inflatable flamingo are pure daydream fodder…)

Giant flamingos will always be a thing! hahaha
I love them and those giant swans as well!
There’s also one shaped like a giant slice of pizza. Which was pretty appealing, not gonna lie.
I sure hope so!! They are the best.
